THE SMARTFOAM SERIES

The SmartFoam series from Valco Melton is an adhesive application system for the filtration industry in Morocco (air filters, hydraulic filters, etc.).

It is an adhesive foaming installation or station (“foaming”) that integrates a dynamic mixer, enabling molten adhesive (hot-melt) to be combined with dry air.

The goal is to create a homogeneous adhesive foam with reduced density, while maintaining or improving bonding performance.

  • Bonding of filter edges, frames, or end caps.
  • Sealing of gaskets or assembly of filter housings.

The SmartFoam version allows :

• To reduce adhesive density by up to –50% compared to a “standard” application.

• To improve certain adhesive properties: better open time, better wetting on low-permeability substrates, and better penetration into porous materials.

• To reduce the weight of the finished product or the amount of adhesive used, which is beneficial both economically and environmentally.

• The system can be used as a “standalone foaming station” or integrated into an existing melting/extrusion system.

• It operates with different types of hot-melt adhesives: EVA, PSA, PUR, Polyester, Polyolefins.

• Adjustable foam density within a range of 0 to 50% (depending on the application).

• Suitable for filter production lines, whether for filter media, pleats, frames, etc..

• Integration of dry air into the adhesive to create an adhesive foam: this reduces the amount of material used while maintaining performance.

• Improved efficiency and cost savings (lower material cost, lighter product, reduced adhesive usage).

• Better process control: density, flow rate, etc.

• Suitable for the filter industry, which has high requirements in terms of quality, performance, and production speed.
